Trericket Mill Vegetarian Guesthouse, Bunkhouse and Camping
The public bus (Brecon to Newtown) runs every 2 hours during the day Monday to Saturday and will drop off/pick up on request at the top of the old road (approx 20 yards from the property).
The property is a grade 2* listed converted water cornmill retaining the original milling machinery. It has been restored in keeping with its character and retains the original narrow doors and uneven floors!
Mobile phone reception is eratic throughout the local area although we do have coverage for O2 and Vodaphone networks.
Guesthouse
- Parking is on the old roadway outsite the mill and luggage can be unloaded outside the front door.
- The front door has a low step and on the ground floor the floors are old and uneven with steps between rooms.
- There is a downstairs toilet in the back hallway which is down two steps.
- We are always happy to carry guests luggage up to and down from the bedrooms.
- Toms Room (twin) and Annies Room (double) are on the first floor and are accessed via a narrow spiral staircase. There is a step up to their en-suite facilities.
- The Mill Room (double) is also on the first floor and is accessed via a modern straight staircase with a half landing. It has a step up to the shower and en-suite facility.
- All the beds have non feather pillows and duvets.
- We do not allow animals in the house which is also totally smoke free.
Bunkhouse (Bunkrooms 1 & 2)
- There is a parking area directly outside the bunkhouse (cars need to be driven through a wide entrance gate which is normally kept closed)
- The bunkrooms are accessed up 2 steps and across an uneven flagstoned porchway
- There is a low step up to the shower/wash rooms which adjoin each bunkroom
- The rooms display contact details for emergency services, taxis etc
- There are no electric sockets in the bunkrooms or washrooms
- The common room is in the main guesthouse approx 30 yards from the bunkhouse, through the orchard gate, along the old potted road and up a step.
- Well behaved dogs are allowed in the bunkrooms.
Bunkroom 3
- Vehicles can be parked on the old road directly in front of the Mill.
- This small bunkroom is at the back of the mill overlooking the garden and can be accessed through the garden gate, along a short stony path up a step to the covered porch area and through the back door of the Mill.
- The bunk beds are narrow and the top bunk is high with a vertical ladder access.
- There is level access to the shower and en-suite facility.
Camping
- The camping pitches are on levelled sites in the sloping orchard. All the pitches are on grass.
- Cars can be brought into the orchard and normally left on the hardstanding area although if necessary they can be parked beside the tent.
- There are several water points and recycling/waste disposal points on the campsite.
- The 2 shower rooms are on the back of the bunkhouse and accessed via a gravelled path, up a step and across an uneven flagstoned porch area.
- Well behaved dogs are allowed on the campsite.
